Don't try to farm a rift level that takes you longer than 6 minutes to finish if you care about efficiency. Once you start getting into the 40+ range they become amazing for farming legendaries. The higher you can go the more you will get.

  • Generally give you a couple legendaries at the end.
  • The value in greater rifting while you're gearing up is that they will:.
  • Allowing you to get double the mats in one run. You'll get an extra cache, and the bonus will move to another act after you complete the one it is currently on. Only do the act that has the "Bonus!" indicated on it. You can't just spam Act 1 like everyone used to like doing. Each act drops a different mat, so you must do every act. You can only get these from Bounty Cache's that Tyrael gives you for doing bounties.
  • Act Materials: Pretty self explanatory.
  • Stick with the former option rather than the latter if your goal is just souls. You can get guaranteed souls from bounty cache's though once you hit Torment 6, and legendarys do drop outside of rifts of course. Rifts have increased legendary drop rates which means more forgotten souls. Typically greater rifts and regular rifts are the best source for this though. It depends on the difficulty you can play at.
  • Forgotten souls: This one's a little more vague.
  • White, Blue, and Yellow Mats: Same as death's breath.
  • Don't make the mistake of only greater rifting and not building up a healthy supply of this item.
  • Death's Breath: Bounties and Regular Rifts.
  • Now, how do you best go about getting these things most effectively? Take it as an improvement and wait for a good legendary to spend resources on trying to perfect. A bad legendary that gives you an improvement over your current gear is not worth enchanting or re-rolling when there is better stuff out there.
  • Do not waste materials on enchanting items that aren't worth it.
  • No end game builds will use items from the blacksmith. You can use them for crafting items at the blacksmith too, but don't EVER waste them on that. Again, you'll need a lot of these for enchanting and using kanai's cube. You'll need the mats for enchanting your items and for the kanai's cube.

Break down every white, blue, and yellow you find. You only have to acquire it once and you'll have it on every character. Zolton will give you the quest for it in any act hub. Speaking of the cube, go get the Kanai's Cube.It is used in basically every kanai's cube recipe. I'm not a super hardcore rift pusher like those who go into 90's, but I can give you some good advice.īasically, here's what is important to pick up while you play: I've played every season except for 2, and generally do 2 man greater rifting in the 60-80 range with friends. Most of this should apply since I made this at the start of the previous season. Going to copy and paste a lengthy post I made in another tips thread awhile back. The absolute final tier of things to do is using Kunais Cube to empower your gear by spending highly upgraded legendary gems. Also, don't forget to spend your Blood Gems at Kadala and look into the crafting you can do with Kunai's Cube (both of these are fairly minor, but still useful if you're missing a specific item).

You can have 3 Leg gems equipped (one in each piece of jewelry) and you upgrade them by doing higher and higher greater rift levels. Once you're past the point where you rarely find any gear upgrades it's all about grinding Paragon levels and Legendary Gems. The reward for doing this is a very unique and generally very powerful amulet (buy the recipe from the vendor in act 2 camp), so it's also something that's worth spending an hour or two doing at some point anyways. You can open these portals by going to Tristram and manually attacking the door "northeast" in town (first or second if you enter town from where you start the game) then using the machine inside. Killing these gives you infernal machines that will open portals to the "uber bosses". Doing these usually also involves killing the Keywardens (there's one in each of the first four acts, marked by a key on the map). You probably won't be able to do them all right away though. If you're playing a seasonal character it's a good idea to check out your journey goals once you hit 70, as doing them will reward you with a good starter set. So you basically end up switching back and forth between normals and greaters. You have to do normal rifts to get greater rift keys, which is where the biggest rewards are. Doing bounties early on is also nice since once you're 70 the name of the game is rifts and you haven't already burned out on grinding them. The best way to level up to max level (without any outside help) is to do bounties (remember to do all the bounties in a single act to receive the big reward). As soon as you're able you should start playing in adventure mode instead of campaign.
